I never thought I’d buy an oscilloscope.
I never thought I’d have a car with a heated steering wheel.
I never thought that I’d make it past 70.
I never thought that I’d go to China.
I never thought I’d be putting leaflets supporting the Green Party through letter boxes.
I never thought that I’d ride a powerful automatic motorbike. And like it.
I never thought I’d own a ‘real’ metal working lathe.
I never thought I’d have to design a computer from scratch, complete with its own programming language.
I never thought that anyone would invite me to drive a prototype electric car.
I never thought that I’d work in Canterbury Cathedral.
I never thought I’d spend 90 minutes discussing political things with a very right wing MP in the House of Parliament restaurant.
My life’s been full of these unexpected surprises (and there’s so many more wonderful things that I haven’t mentioned!), so do be prepared for your fair share to come your way and surprise you! So do say “yes” to the unexpected, you never know the good things it may lead to.
