Didn’t they do well?

Well, the last race of the year could’ve been dramatic, but it was just a story book strategy to win and win, with careful driving and clockwork pit stops. Mind you, it could’ve gone wrong; accidents happen, tyres get punctures and hares run on to the track, but none of that happened and McLaren came a planned 2nd and 3rd, Max won the race of course, and Lando won his first world championship. All very neatly done, and some very happy people around. Well done Lando, Oscar and all the McLaren team. Bruce would be proud of you.

Oh, and Lewis finally pulled together a reasonable race, gaining 8 places from near last. Well done Lewis.

Now we look forward to a strange 2026 F1 series with new cars, new rules and new regs. Who knows how it will pan-out, who knows who’ll have the extra 0.1% to lead the way in this brave new greener F1 world? And how well will Lewis and Ferrari do? Only time will tell.
